Levels of finish
Drywall finish levels define how much joint compound is applied before paint or texture. Choosing the right level prevents visible defects under your lighting conditions.
Level 1
Fire taping only — concealed areas, plenum spaces.
Level 2
Tape embedded in joint compound — garage, warehouse, unfinished spaces.
Level 3
Two additional coats on joints — areas receiving heavy texture or tile.
Level 4
Three coats on joints, primer before paint — standard residential and commercial.
Level 5
Skim coat over entire surface — critical lighting, gloss paint, high-end finish.
After water damage
Drywall that has been wet must be replaced — not dried in place. We handle both the flood response and the drywall reconstruction under one scope, so there are no gaps between drying and rebuild.

Does wet drywall need to be replaced?
Gypsum board that has been saturated loses structural integrity and can harbour mould. We remove affected sections and replace rather than attempting to dry in place.
Can you match existing texture?
Yes. We sample existing texture and replicate on repair areas for a seamless finish.
Do you handle fire-rated assemblies?
Yes. We install fire-rated drywall assemblies to BC Building Code requirements — typically 45-minute or 1-hour rated systems for suite separations and public corridors in multi-family buildings, using tested assemblies such as double-layer 5/8" Type X gypsum board. We also install sound-rated (STC) assemblies with resilient channel and double-layer board for noise separation between units.
